Women over 50 struggle with fashion trends. The phrase senior fashion sounds like an oxymoron. Avoid these fashion mistakes to age with grace and style.
1. They believe that 50 is “old” and that it excuses them to gain weight and let go of “healthy vanity”.
2. Too much make-up or plastic surgery and obvious artifice.
3. Holding on to outdated styles (especially from the 80s!)
4. Wearing “lady like” knit suits.
5. Shopping at stores that are targeting boomers and older women (exception is Talbots, which is good at 65 years and older)
6. Ruining their outfits with shoes that are obviously geared only for comfort.
7. Owning only one bag–for all outfits!
8. Confusing “young” with youthful–and not observing what is classic or ageless.
9. Not being curious and observing about current/modern style.
10. Wearing eyeglasses and other accessories that age them.
11. Anything “cutesy”
12. Belonging to societies that bond through silly hats and clothing.
