If you ask people, most will say they eat healthy most of the time. In fact, most people do want to eat healthy. With that said, most of us have poor eating habits we’ve acquired over time. The good news is people are selective on their bad habits, meaning they splurge and then do well. Look at the following scenarios to identify your poor eating habits.

Stuffing at meals. People who stuff eat too much at one time, usually dinner. These people tend to overfill their plates and then refill again and maybe again. It’s often from not having eaten during the day. These people may also eat quickly so their brain doesn’t have time to know when they are full.

Binging at parties. If you only go to parties once or twice a year, binging may not be a bad thing. If you’re a real party animal, binging may cause a problem. People who binge on food at parties often binge on drinks. They are having a good time and are not aware of how much they are consuming.

Eating on the run. Many people eat in their cars or at work as a way to save time. Just like the stuffers, they may eat too quickly and are not aware of how many calories they consume. Besides, they are often focused on something else, such as work or the road. People who eat while watching television may not be aware of how much they eat, also.

Indulging at Restaurants. People who fall into this category tend to eat out often, as many as 3 to 4 times a week. Restaurants have continued to add more and more food to their portion sizes, so that it is very difficult to not overeat when dining out.

Grazing throughout the day. Instead of eating three meals with an occasional snack, these people are eating throughout the day, whether they are hungry or not.

Identify which of the poor eating habits best describe you. These are your dietary danger zones. You may have to become more aware of your eating habits to identify which ones lead to extra weight.
